Cholesterol Friendly Cupcake!

Over the past ten or so years, I’ve been struggling to keep my cholesterol levels down within the healthy range. In the last year, it has sky rocketed to a very scary number…one that I hesitate to recall. What amazes people when I tell them of my cholesterol, is that I’m still young, fit and healthy. Unfortunately, my high cholesterol levels are hereditary; so for me, a strict diet & lifestyle change is necessary to avoid any medications.

With the recent development of my business and baking adventures, it’s hard for me to NOT taste my cupcakes. I insist on tasting every cupcake batch that I make - to test for quality, moistness and flavour. So you can appreciate that this quality control is not helping me keep my cholesterol levels down.

Well…I am really happy to say that over the weekend, I found some spare time to experiment with a cholesterol friendly recipe…so that I, too, can enjoy a sweet treat once in a while! After a few tweaks here and there, this chocolate mini cupcake will not only taste good, but be very cholesterol friendly - no butter and no eggs…not even in the frosting!

Our mini cutting cakes measure approximately 9.5cm in diameter and 6cm high undecorated. They can be custom decorated to match your mini cupcakes theme & colour! Prices start from $20 each.

Cupcakes for Charity

Last week we were busy in the ‘mini cakes’ kitchen baking cupcakes to donate for the Relay for Life event. Our assorted classic range were on sale at the Podium stall, and by the end of the two days, our cupcakes were all gone!! I am pleased to say that in total, Podium raised over $2000 for the Cancer Council. What a huge effort!! I’m very happy that Mini Cakes helped contribute to that total

Christmas Gift Packs AVAILABLE!

Well, after much anticipation, we’re proud to release our 2009 Christmas gift packs!! This includes a dozen mini cupcakes in a gift pack accompanied with a hand crafted Christmas gift tag.

You can choose from our new mini mud or mini fruit cakes. These mini cakes are not your ‘traditional’ mud or fruit cakes - they are light but still so moist and yummy! Each mini cupcake is covered with white fondant (or buttercream swirls) and topped with a hand crafted Christmas sugar decoration.
